Bound to Happen

Dean runs a pretty big operation, and he does it relatively smooth. But sometimes you just have a fire. Things were going pretty well this season so something like this was bound to happen.
I got these pictures from the Idaho State Journal website. I almost snapped when I saw this one. If you already started one tractor on fire maybe don't drive a second one into the flames, but that's just my advice.
Dean and I were out of town when he got the call. I think the crew he had hauling straw did everything right but Dean wished they didn't call 911 he was sure that was unnecessary. He was really glad the driver had walked away. Dean said that if he still would have been in the skid steer he would have had a hard time getting out because it has a safety bar that locks you in. Anyway because nothing else exciting happens in Idaho it made the newspaper. I'm going to guess it made the local paper too but we don't get that one.

Fluming

My neighbors invited us to go fluming. Dean was working so I brought my friend Andrea along. I had heard about the flume from some of the high school kids and it sounded fun, juvenile but fun. For starters it's illegal, normally I'm not into breaking the law but there were no fences or signs so how was I to know it was really illegal? Andrea and I had both heard about it from several people and they told us it was fun, or scary, or dangerous but its weird how NO ONE mentioned walking back on that thin rickety wood plank on a 60 foot bridge; that will be the first thing I'll tell people about.
You float down the flume like a water slide no tube or anything. It goes fast and its pretty fun but I will probably leave it to the high school kids from now on. At least I'll know what my kids are talking about when they slip and tell me they went there. I am really glad I went I'm continually amazed at the cool things I live by and how beautiful this area is.

Grandma Great

Grandma Great gave Josie an old baby crib from her basement. Josie was just as excited about it as I was. When we got home she immediately started playing with it and so did her brother. She got really mad, he really didn't love it when she started hitting him as hard as she could with her wallet until he got out. I'm pretty sure it was a lesson learned he hasn't ever got back in it.

Slon... come and get your fashon on!

The girls designed a bunch of clothes and then they hung signs all over the house advertising their business. I wish I had a picture of all of them (some said 'juelry' and 'neklessis') they were so cute. The girls wanted us to come buy their products. When Ang and Addy went in to pay they said they wanted real money. So it cost 51 cents for Angela's and 38 cents for Addy's purchases.
This is was their station. Sorry mom it just happens to be your closet.
Just cause he is so cute and getting so big.
Later when we were cleaning up I found a homemade envelope with A LOT of homemade money. $200 up to $50,000 dollar bills. The girls must have made it with intentions to buy the clothes. I wonder who the genius was that stashed the fake money and made us use real money for the purchases.

Brigham City Temple

Addy had some tickets to the Brigham City Temple open house. She let Josie and I come with her. It was a nice little field trip. Inside the temple Josie asked me several times where Jesus was. How do you explain that?

She Says...

"I want a sandwich without any dinner on it".

After some questioning I found out that this is just another way to ask for a piece of bread.

I gave her the bread, she ate it all but the crust. She put the crust in my hand and said, "I don't like the wood mommy".

I guess if I forget to teach her words like 'crust' she will just find another way to explain it.

Maddie

I need to post this for Grandma and Marie to see. I may or may not have pressured Maddie into going blond. The light in this picture is a little off but I love her light hair. I like her mostly no matter what but I love her with blond hair.
O Dad notice the towl rack is broken in the back ground...
so much for your 'All American Girl'

Dutch Oven

Emilee and Johnny made a dutch oven dinner and invited us all to North Fork.
It was so fun, and Dean is still talking about how good the food was.
The kids loves playing in the water and the dirt. It was nice just to let them play and not worry about messing up someones house.
Emilee brought hot dogs for the kids and they loved roasting their own.
Jake made his own roasting stick. The table was just the right size for Trig to get anything he wanted, he was a disaster.
I tried to get Dean to take a picture with me but he just made fun of me instead so now this is all we have. Maddie is such a teenager she is too cool.
We had smores and relaxed by the fire; until Rio was trying to move her chair and fell in the fire. It was honestly a miracle, she was burned but not too bad. Her dress was wet from the river so her clothes didn't catch on fire. Addy and Cameron put her directly under water and all her burns were in cold water until 1 in the morning.
It really was a blessing she wasn't hurt worse.

The last Hurrah

Angela likes to party, she had the week off and has defiantly made the most of it. She has been busy playing and soaking up the last bit of summer. She even penciled me in for a few fun activities. She brought the kids up and we floated the narrows. They showed up in their swim suits and left in their swim suits, honestly I don't even know if they changed out of them to sleep.
I wish I could have recorded the entire adventure. Jake was so excited when we first got there he really wanted some big rapids. On our way we passed the rapids we would float through and as I put him in the water I asked him if he was excited; he replied, "Ah Sheesh I'm totally Freaked". The first two miles were slow. I think the kids were kind of thinking it was anticlimactic until we hit the last two miles, they were wild. The kids were so scared you would have thought we were on the most difficult White Water River in the U.S. and series of unfortunate events left most of us with enormous bruises, scrapes, and cuts. In hindsight minus the lingering pain I think we had fun.
We got out of the river and drove to watch Dean Team Brand. He took 2nd, good job babe.

The next morning we packed a lunch and left for Bear Lake.
Trig kept attacking Josie and I just love his face, he is so pleased.

Laurel came for the last little while. Everybody helped with this life size ice cream cone until Ang took over for the finishing touches. I told someone to lay by it to prove its size and these three mocking did some modeling poses.
