I only have before pictures of our first "little house" in Idaho. Dean and I moved to this little house the first of May 2007. When Dean was offered the job offer of a life time we quickly left our large rental home in Ogden and moved to Thatcher. The house needed some cosmetic surgery. We first moved only our mattress in on a blanket on the floor in the bedroom and ate with only paper products, while we tore apart and put back together enough to move the rest of our stuff in. The house ended up being pretty cute and homey. My brothers came up and built a new deck and made the outside look great. This house was so tiny but such a fun place for us to live at first. We didn't have any TV wich led to a lot of game nights and movie rentals. Dean and I went through quite a few dogs these first two years also. They kept Dying. This year Dean continued school at ISU and I did my student teaching at Grace Elementary. I graduated in December 2007 and started working at US Bank until I started teaching my own class at Preston Elementary Fall 2008. Dean continued school and learned the ins and outs of his new job. He truly loves his job and truly hates college.
Preston ID- There were 8 5th grade classes 27 to 30 students each, its a small
town but the boundaries cover a large area the elementary was huge.
Grace ID- only 1 5th grade class, I loved each one of my 11 students.
I hated when people said I was from Ogden. I always made it very clear I was from North Ogden, not so ghetto in my opinion. When Dean and I got married we moved to the dreaded Ogden, which actually was very nice. We were able to rent a huge home on the east bench near Maylan's Peak. It was more like house sitting really, we only paid $100 a month. Our plan was to live there until the following July and then move to Rexburg and both finish school. As life would have it we only lived there one month and then Dean got a job offer with Westates. We finished the semester and moved to Thatcher Idaho. O at this house we did get our first little pet together. Dean wanted to buy a dog. I thought it was dumb to buy a dog because my dad always said if you wait long enough a good dog will come around for free. I gave in and we bought Blue. Dean paid $100 for him but I made him tell my family it was only $50.
We were originally planning on California but the weather was going to be cold so we just decide to go cheap. We stayed in Logan one night and then St. George the next. We ended up in Vegas. It was fun to take Dean because he had never been before, he thought the whole city should burn. The entire time we were is Vegas he just kept saying this place is so dirty, these people are so dirty, I'm pretty sure he hated it. We still managed to have a good time.
