I'm not perfect

Earlier in the day Dean had given me a little speech about how I'm not perfect and I need to go a little easier on him.

Later that night we were going on a date and I had just gotten dressed and put on my boots. I asked Dean if my outfit looked okay.
Dean: Well I hate those boots
Me: What you were with my when I bought them, you told me you liked them
Dean: Noooo I didn't... you asked me what ones I liked better and I liked those ugly ones better than the uglier ones.

...now is a fine time to tell me that, I had been wearing them for two weeks

20 minutes later when we are driving in the car I turned to him and asked
Me: What do you think about my hair like this
Dean: O ya I was wondering about that
Me: What, What does that mean
Dean: Well when we were walking out of the house I was like, 'I wonder if she knows her hair looks like that'

... again now is a fine time to tell me that

and I'm the one that is too hard on him.

Books

I took all the toys downstairs so now if the kids play upstairs they can only read books. I love how often I find them reading books. Josie loves to tell Trig stories, and I love to hear them too.

So Sad

I took Josie to get her first hair cut ever. She was terrified, she was sure it was going to hurt. She thinks hair cuts hurt because when I cut Trigs hair with the clippers he cries. I have just kind of let her think that because I don't want her to cut her own hair. I could have trimmed her hair myself but I didn't want her to think it is okay to cut hair at home. She was so sad it was the saddest $5 I have ever spent.

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. Wednesday night the White's and Ballard's slept over (14 people). By 8 am on Thanksgiving morning the little girls were doing their make-up, Jake's was already on the 4-wheeler and the house was wild. By 10 am Casey and JD and their families showed up and they all went out to shoot guns. Our neighbor and Dean's family came too! It has been a tradition with my family for a long time to have a Turkey Shoot on Thanksgiving.

There was a lot of 4-wheeling happening between all the kids. Gracie hit a fence and broke her arm. Besides the broken part it couldn't have worked out more perfectly. The wheeler wasn't broke and fence was fine. She wrecked at about 10:30. Ang (her mom) just had back surgery so she was almost no help in the kitchen anyway, plus she can't drive. Alyson cut her thumb last week making chocolates and couldn't get her stitches wet and it hurt to do the jobs I was giving her. Anyway Alyson, Ang, and Gracie went to the emergency room.  1 hour of driving 1 hour at the hospital and they were back just in time for dinner.

The little kids made name tags which were mostly incomplete but I thought they were so cute.
Dinner went relatively well. No one got food poisoning so I'm counting it a success. I cooked and brined my first and hopefully last turkey. I don't like turkey and I really don't like guts. Addy made really good pie and we covered all the traditional essentials. We missed mom and dad and the Keye's but mostly Maddie! O and we all appreciate mom a little more Thanksgiving is hard and VERY expensive.

After dinner we went back to shoot a little more and clean up the millions of shells.
We visited, played games, and did puzzles most of the night.
Thursday night Casey's kids got to sleep over too I think the kids were in heaven!
Friday Hall's and White's headed home. That night we went to the Preston Festival of Light. They had a pretty impressive firework show and light parade.

dad's birthday

Sunday we left Cedar City and headed for home. Trig slept for a while and talked a lot, I'm not sure what about but her was really loud. Josie complained the entire drive that her tummy hurt; she cried and slept and complained. Finally in Layton she threw up, a lot. She had a high fever and really was a sick lady. It actually worked out perfectly because Dean and I had debated on just driving all the way through or stopping at my parents. Because Josie had thrown up we had to stop. I told Dean to run in and start the tub and I would bring Josie.
I had planned a surprise birthday party for him but he missed the surprise cause he just ran straight for the bathtub. When he came out he realized what happened and the party started. (I still bathed Josie and started some laundry and washed the car seat for the second time in two days). Anyway we had grandma great's famous cake and banana splits. Thursday Josie picked out some toy horses for her dad and wrapped them. We talked about surprises and not telling him but right when he walked in the door she said, "Dad, you know what we got you two horses". So much for a surprise. She was so excited for his birthday and was so serious while wrapping the gift.
Dean and I were both really sad that Josie was so sick for the party, she loves birthdays. She still gave Dean his gift but she just wasn't as excited as she would have been if she wasnt' sick.

Because I'm a super cool wife and spent a ridiculous amount of money on Klim pants and gloves for Dean, and I really do mean a ridiculous amount. But he swears they make all the difference. Really cause when he takes me snowmobiling with him I wear snow pants from the DI and may or may not just be a thick pair of warm ups and I'm still alive. Anyway he got his wish.

I also bought him this movie, because it was going to be the only gift I got him but good thing it wasn't because when he unwrapped it, he looked at it confused and said not thanks but "what inspired this"? Clearly he wasn't impressed.
Josie fell asleep again and then took another bath. The kids used the decorations for entertainment. Mike taught the boys to Indian leg wrestle. Then there was some wrestling.
Monday was Dean's actual birthday. The kids made signs for him but because we just got home we didn't do much partying. I told the kids to hold up their signs so I could get a picture.

Uncle TJ Got Married

Thursday night we stayed at my moms to break up the drive a little bit. We left Friday morning and headed for Cedar City. The weather was awful but surprising the kids did really good in the car. Trig threw up twice but he was happy, I would oddly take throw up and happy over clean and crying. We got there Friday night in time for these three to take a little nap while I washed the car seats. Then off to the rehearsal dinner. Josie couldn't wait to swim so we didn't stay long and went back to the hotel to swim. I was excited too cause I bought the kids these new life jackets. Other life jackets strangle their necks and they wont leave them on but these worked wonderful, though the are ugly I highly recommend them.
Saturday we attended the wedding. They got married in a really really old church and it was so pretty. Laurel did all the decorations and it was beautiful. She did so much work I can't even imagine. She did the entire thing in burlap and lace it was so pretty.
After the wedding we ate a really good dutch oven lunch and visited.

It was no surprise that we had to go swimming again between the wedding and the reception.
Pictures and then the reception. It was so perfect, decorations, refreshments, dancing, and a live band. It was fun. Dean had his sisters tend for a minute while Dean and I left for dinner. We came back in time to watch them cut the cake. I love weddings.
A couple of the groomsmen... don't they look happy.
 Lots of dancing...
Congratulations TJ and Ashton we love you both!
