This little guy woke up before the sun to ship cows with his dad. I tried to talk him out of it and there was no question he was going, work had to get done and he was going to be there.

Tea Party

Josie woke up wanting to plan a tea party and lucky for her she had cousins in town. At the store she picked out cookies and M&Ms to serve at her party but only wanted water to drink because she was afraid they would spill. The kids were on a sugar high for hours following but they had a great time.

8 Years

I had planned for our 8 year anniversary on the calendar so you can imagine my surprise when I walked past one day to see that Dean had written the actual date of our anniversary on the calendar. #wifefail

Calving Season

We have had a wonderful calving season (knock on wood) Dean had over 300 heifers to calve and i was really worried about it but we had awesome weather and really good luck. We are almost done calving now. Dean was really good to let us tag a long with him to check cows. 

We did have one bottle calf for a while. He was paralyzed and Josie was just sure he was going to get better. She sang him songs and checked on him a lot, she helped Dean feed him until he passed away.

Incase you ever need to know 5 people fit on a 4 wheeler pretty comfortably. Dean told Josie he would give her $1 if she could get this pair out of the corral and into the next pasture by herself and she did it.  

Trigger Dean

Trig is a hard worker, he is always better behaved if he has a hard important job to do.

Today Trig was playing with Josie's notebook and Josie said it was okay but asked him to please not color on her picture of the dinosaur she had drawn. So in true Trig fashion he flipped right to the dinosaur drawing and scribbled all over it. We were going to the bank and I said now that Trig had made that bad choice he wouldn't be getting a sucker. After getting a sucker for both girls at the bank I ran in the gas station and when I came out Josie was screaming she yelled, "mom Trig has been beating me up, hitting and kicking me because I wont give him my sucker". He is mostly naughty and usually mean. I'm not sure how I'm going to raise him.

Trig drew this bull for me and it was perfect

He loves stories and he loves to be with his dad even more.

The kids got bouncy balls at the Thatcher carnival and we don't let those in our house because they are the perfect size for chocking. I told them  they would have to throw them away and Trig said he was only getting rid of his if I let him throw it in the river so I did. I hope the fish don't choke but I was sure glad to get rid of them without a fight.

Washing the dishes is the new favorite chore at our house both the kids are very thorough.

Trig is so good to play with Quincy he doesn't seem to mind letting her hang around or really even mess up his stuff. I hope he always loves her. 

Josie Jos

Josie loves loves loves makeup and her real favorite is when she can talk someone into letting her put it on them.

Josie plays outside only when the weather is perfect and there is NO wind, and only when everyone is doing exactly what she wants.

She loves taking pictures and often tells me to take pictures of her when she thinks she looks really fancy or cute. She had this idea for a family tower and wanted a picture.

Josie is really good at using her imagination but she she is not good at playing by herself. One day when Trig and Quincy were both sleeping I got to play Barbies with her. I was Merliah and she was Karazonia.

Here is a little trick she has been working on! She is mostly fun to have around, she is very intense and asks a lot of questions. She is curious and observant and usually chooses the right. She is a great helper and a great boss.

Quincer Noodle

We have been calling this girl Quincer Noodle for a long time I don't know how it came to be but I just want to squish her most all the time. She is so fun and wild but she sure can throw a fit.

Trig dresses Quincy up in his sheep riding gear and let her ride him around a few times. 

She is obsessed with her clothes if she could get it figured out she would change every 10 minutes.

and she loves to color. 

Her and I had a good time this winter feeding cows with Dad. The other two rode on the wagon so just she and I got to drive and she felt very important. 

She is getting easier and maybe learned that screaming doesn't get us anywhere any faster.

I took the girls to the park and learned that Quincy defiantly weighs more than Josie. 

She loves ice cream I thought I could just get one to share with her but she didn't let me touch it. 

She loves the sand and will play out there by herself or with Trig for an hour at a time. 

She is VERY attached to her coat, not a specific coat but will not leave the house without a coat of some sort, its like a security blanket for her. She goes through phases where she wont leave without a hat and if you try to take it off she freaks out. She is very spoiled and screams loud enough she usually gets her way, I'm working on that.

Real cowboys sleep outside

Dean sent me this picture from his bedroll one morning while at the ranch in Boise. I asked why he didn't just sleep in the trailer and he said because he's not a pansy.

Then he sent me this picture of the tent he set up for his hired guy to live in while he calves at the ranch in Nevada and said if I didn't have a family I would totally be living here.

So when I saw with it made me laugh. He does get to do a lot of cowboying but his job is more business then I ever imagined. He is such a hard worker and deals so well with stress. He still has a happy attitude and makes time for us, I sure love and appreciate him and his hard work, even though I'm NEVER living in a tent.
