Photo Contest

Ang called and told me about this photo contest at Masterpiece Images. I took the kids down and let them take their pictures. They wouldn't let Quincy enter because she wasn't two yet but they still took her pictures and called it a Free Birthday Shoot. I got a Facebook just to rally more votes and it worked because they both got in the top 5 winning them a sand bucket full of gift and a free 8X10 print. Trig won the grand prize of a picture package which is what I was after. Because I'm not in love with the kids pictures I'm going to get use our print package and get family pictures done! Which we have never actually done before with just our family. But aren't Quincy's the cutest? She is just so squishy I love it!

Probably because I was on a high from winning this photo contest when Johnny sent me the email from Zion's bank to win $10,000 I was determined to win. I had to use my new Facebook account for this as well but this one didn't pan out so well. I have chosen to be a finalist with 11 other people but only placed third in the final votes. I was totally bummed because who wouldn't be if you had a chance at that kind of free money? I'm quite confident If they just would have gone off the best picture I would have won, the other pictures were way lame. Needles to say we are done with contests and Facebook they are both way to time consuming.

Weekend with the Whites

I'm not sure when it happened but Dean and Cameron were talking and decided they both wanted to do a session at the Manti temple. They planned the date and we headed down. Dean lined it up so he could go see a ranch in Nevada the same weekend. Dean dropped the kids and I off at Addy's and then headed to Nevada. Friday we woke up and played til the dads got home and then headed to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving point; it was amazing.
They had so many neat things you could spend hours and hours. I loved it all but was happy to play in the vet room because I had been talking to the kids about bones all week and this was the perfect way for me to show them more about it.
If you ask Dean he would say that he was very engaged and played with the kids. The truth is he sat down at every possible bench and at one point he and Cameron jumped the fence to a concert to buy a burger, What? who does that?
Dean is always telling me that I'm not any fun and now he has proof. We did this course that was like a billion feet in the air and I was trying not to throw up while he and addy were racing across tight ropes not holding on to anything probably with their eyes closed. I'm not a dare devil but it really was a sight to see the whole place was amazing.

The next morning we woke up and drove to the Manti Temple. It was also a really neat experience. My mom was nice/brave enough to come down to tend all the kids.

Saturday night we went to another awesome place to swim. I guess its the perks of living in the city! I'm pretty sure i had the most fun.
This is just in the baby area but they had two more huge pools, a lazy river, splash pad, enormous slide, and a wet jungle gym with more slides.
These are the two Mermaid sisters, Josie was in heaven playing with Rio!
Sunday we went to church and headed to Plain City. Josie was so sad to leave Rio she cried all the way to the freeway.
We got to my moms in time for dinner and to witness this bet that Angela couldn't ride Josie's horse standing up. She did great but check out all the people that gathered around to witness it, that was the funniest part.

Memorial Day

Dean came home around 10 am on Memorial Day and asked the kids if they wanted to go on a picnic. I didn't feel very good but we still went anyway and I'm so glad we did. We would have missed out on "the best day ever", as Josie repeatedly kept calling it.
I made some sandwiches that we ate at the pond and then went on a hike that was so funny. Quincy was loving her ride on our shoulders and the kids were plenty discouraged with the huge trees in our path.
Josie was picking every leaf and flower she could hold in her fist while she sang to herself.
On our way down the hill I told Trig it was time for a nap and Josie said she wanted to take a nap too. Next the most magical thing happened. We got home and all 5 of us took a nap it was awesome! When we woke up Dean saddled the horses and walked down to see papa.
Dean had filled up the pool earlier so it was warm for the kids and I let them swim for the first time this summer. Quincy was loving the water until the dog walked by and she melted.
They only swam for a minute and then we headed to the Taco Bus in town for dinner. I got their NOMER so we can call in next time. We stopped to visit at Dean's parents on our way home and I took the kids on a little walk ,then home to bed. I really did have such a fun day with this little family of mine and I'm so glad Josie though it was the best day ever
