Halloween

I don't so much love Halloween as I love making Halloween costumes. My two older ones have had the cutest costumes so far and this year they wouldn't let me choose what I wanted them to be. They both chose a costume and wouldn't budge I wasn't about to make a homemade ninja turtle or mermaid because that is just not fun so they used what we already had around the house and I hated it so much I'm blaming my subconscious for not even taking a picture, bad mother. But Quincy can't talk so I got to do what I wanted with her! I dressed her in Josie's old chicken costume just to crack myself up but she hated it and it was busting at the seems, she was just too big. So I went with the next best thing, Nacho Libre. She seemed to like that much better. My mom was disgusted but I figured as much.
Some pre Halloween activities, We went to Lagoon with Dean's siblings and it was a lot of fun. I also went to Thriller for the first time with some girl friends and that was fun too.
I was bragging to my friends how my kids didn't know about carving pumpkins and I wasn't going to teach them until they were old enough to figure it out. I should have assumed as much but the very next day karma got me and Josie started asking if we could carve pumpkins like Taylor Hall. I bought tiny pumpkins and let them paint them but she wasn't satisfied we talked about it for another week or so and she was just set on this Halloween fantasy. I gave in and it was terrible, I obviously did all the work myself and it was a mess and terrible just like I had anticipated but it was almost all worth it when I lit them up and Quincy went nuts. She was so scared she obviously has the worst fear of jack-o-lanterns in all of history, it was so so funny and sad and funny.
Emilee and Johnny came to visit and bought us a fun Halloween dinner, she is always so sweet to do fun stuff for me and my kids.
I took the kids to the Logan Pumpkin walk for the first time, who knew that was such a big deal? What a fun place, we had a good time walking around!
Trig saw a boy dressed as the Loan Ranger on Halloween night and he came up the stairs like this a few days later, he was just sure he had tricked me and I really thought it was the Loan Ranger not my son, he was so pleased with himself.

Hunting Season 2014

Dean told me that he was going to find the biggest elk and then sleep with it til opening day, and that is exactly what he did. He has been talking about getting a bedroll for years and this year his dreams finally came true. He was like a kid on Christmas, he got it out played with it filled it with blankets, unpacked it, packed it back up. It was the funniest thing. He sure does love it though, he slept on the hill 5 different night this hunting season and has used it a couple time since so I guess he is getting his monies worth.
Hunting season was exciting for Trig he got to go with Dean to see this crazy looking animal Lawrence killed during the bow hunt.
Next he was excited for TJ and Jake when they brought home some trophies.
Then the one we spent weeks talking about. Dean killed a big elk up behind our house and I was so excited for him!
I told him to call me because I wanted to see it in its element, I was so glad I went up there, I would have never understood it otherwise. And though it was awful I secretly didn't mind watch them quarter it out.
The kids were troopers and hiked all the way in and all the way out. Josie even packed her baby doll and naturally Trig brought a knife to help cut its head off.
The next week while working with dad they got to shoot a coyote. Josie was really sad Dean wouldn't let her keep it.
Grandpa Fox got a couple of pheasants and that peaked Trigs interest in bird hunting. He had been talking about it for a couple weeks before Mike brought the kids up and did a little duct work for us, okay a lot of duct work. He took the kids hunting and they got a lot of birds and a couple rodents too.
Trig was begging to go hunting with them, we tried to tell him it would be too much walking but he wasn't having that, Dean called 20 min later and said Trig gave up. I drove down to get him on the wheeler and saw him in shooting position, he said, "I'm not comin with you mom I'm waitin for dad to scare the birds over here so I can shoot'em". I had to bribe him with treats to come home and promise him that Mike would show us all the birds they killed. When the hunters got back we did infact go check out their haul, Josie once again cried real tears that I wouldn't let her keep a dead pheasant, when I told her it would stink she said, "Max has one in his room mom and it doesn't stink".

18 months

I have loved love loved this little girl lately, 18 months is defiantly my favorite! Everything she does just cracks me up. She is a teaser and loving and so funny. She is getting to be such a pick eater she loves candy and goodies but not real food, she is getting taller and thinning out just a little. She squeals, oh does she ever squeals, its annoying but it works, we just give her what she wants so she will stop. Dean doesn't deal with the squealing very well. She can say dog, cat, shoe, mom, and dad. She does not like to be left out. She thinks she can do everything we do and she will scream until you let her try. She loves to be outside and loves to follow Trig and Josie around. Oh I could just squeeze her all the time.

Families are Forever

I was so happy to be part of Amy's special day. I cried when she called and told me that she and her family were going through the temple. Amy and I have been friends for a long time and she has taught me so many things I wouldn't have ever known with out her. I remember her baptism day more detailed than my own. We have been together through all the big things and she is such a pleasant and special friend to me. I admire her so much, she is strong and independent, she rolls with punches and moves on. I have loved watching her testimony grow through the years. Its also been fun to have my parents there with us. I remember my dad talking to Amy and I about the plan of salvation when her dad passed away. They were their at her baptism, my mom came to the Kenna's baby shower with us, and they even drove us clear to Vegas for her wedding. I was happy they came to support her again on her most special day.
I got to take a few pictures of Kat for her up coming baptism.
This day was extra exciting for me because it was the first time I had been in the Ogden temple since it reopened. They are all beautiful but this one is unbelievable.
We had to rush back to Idaho after the luncheon because Josie had spent the day at Princess school and we were excited to see her in the Homecoming Parade. She loved every second of Princess school where they had a tea party, learned how princesses, sit, blow a kiss, curtsy, a parade routine and then of course they got to meet the princesses and have a sing-a-long. She was in love.
Grandma sent us home with some tiny cookies perfect for a tea party and the kids were so excited we had to do that bright and early the next morning.

These two

We went to see papa at his new house and each of the kids sang him a song. He was delighted and they were pretty pleased with themselves. Josie and Trig defiantly have their moments of fighting but they have been such good friends lately. They play so well and encourage each other and are happy for the other when they do something well. I have loved listening to them when they are playing pretend and I love when I come across their toys arranged in a way that makes me smile. They wrote Ashton a letter and she returned a letter and some stickers, they couldn't have been more excited!
