July 4th

I really want Easter to be my favorite holiday but it just can't beat the 4th of July. Wednesday night Dean and I flew into Ogden like a whirl wind as usual; I dropped the kids off at various places and ran the mandatory errands we had to before the stores closed. We finished in time to watch CJ ride a sheep at the rodeo, Trig was so jealous. He kept saying, "me ride a sheep please" really slowly. Alyson was nice enough to let him stand in the arena with her. CJ won 3rd place he did awesome! I have a giant picture of Addy's eyeball to remind me of the Real soccer game she invited us to that night and then uninvited us to. But don't worry karma got her when a fire work landed in her eye and caused her severe pain for the following 36 hours. You know what they say about karma. No but seriously it was a real bad deal; poor lady.
Just as Josie has been planning for months she got to ride Roxy in the parade. She really wanted to ride with grandpa but because of his shoulder surgery Dean had to take her. She was awful when I woke her up that morning. She didn't want to wear her dress, she didn't want her hair done, and she would not stop crying. But as soon as I set her on the cart she started smiling and waving and didn't stop until the parade was over, she loved it.
We just put the ponies in the kids parade before the real parade started. Which was perfect because it was a little shorter and then the kids still got to watch the real parade and catch candy.
Josie sure loves these cousins. When we leave Utah she always asks why they don't live in Idaho too. I sure appreciate them being so good to my kids.
My mom had a cookout, I didn't get any pictures but it was fun to visit with my cousins and the food was awesome! I'm assuming Mike put on a great firework show but I don't know because Trig was so scared of them we had to go inside right after sparklers.
The next day we went swimming and to the drive in, two of my favorite things. Josie was just amazed she asked me how all the people got in the movie because she didn't see them climb in there. Later she asked Johnny if he was watching the same movie as us (they were three trucks down) she couldn't grasp how they could see it all the way down there.

Apparently I should have called you. We were almost at all the same places over the 4th. I really should think our trips to Plain City through a little bit better.
