Josie

Josie is an analyzer so if we talk through something there is a pretty good chance that the same topic will come up again and again for month and month. One day I told Josie I don’t ever want her to grow up. We talked about how I wish she could just stay little and live with me forever. She told me her concerns about that and how she wants to be a mom and have her own children. Now almost daily she reminds me that I can come to the hospital when she has a baby and “if it works out she will come visit me everyday” when she is the mom. She is really excited for when she is the mom. I know she is excited because she loves babies and responsibility; but mostly she is just excited to make the rules. She reminds me a lot that when she is the mom her kids don’t have to eat the crust of their bread.
She is growing up so fast and she is such a fun girl to raise.   She is very obedient, observant, and smart. She graduated from her online preschool this past week and she had learned so much. I wanted to take her to do something special after graduation. We went to buy a toy, she thought carefully about each thing she wanted. She analyzed what she would do with it, if it would break, and where she would store it; then for one reason or another she would decide against it. After an hour we left the store empty handed and went to another store and decided on makeup. Next I wanted to take her to dinner so we could visit just the two of us. She only wanted lettuce, we drove to a restaurant with salad and before we parked she decided she want hungry and just wanted to go home and play makeup so that’s what we did.
She also had her very first dance recital. It was a good experience for both of us. It was only a five-week course with one performance. I pushed her to do it because I wanted her to do something hard. We tried dance once before but she was too shy and didn’t want to go. She was still really little so I didn’t fight it. I figured this really short class would be a good learning experience. She went to class nervous the first day, I dropped her off so she couldn’t cling to me and she ended up loving ballet (she likes to specify that its ballet not dance). She liked class but didn’t want to perform and couldn’t stop complaining how itchy the costume was.  She preformed, I told her how proud I was and talked about how she was proud too. She said she had fun and loves ballet but she doesn’t want to take any more dance class.

Independence Day

I love Independence Day. I love the holiday, what it stands for and all the festivities. This year was pretty low key. We spent the 3rd washing the (5) horses with Grandpa Bruce before heading to the jr. rodeo that night.
Josie did the stick horse barrels and she did a great job!
Trig did the dummy roping. He only caught one horn so he didn't get a time but I was impressed.

Since last year Trig saw CJ ride a sheep and he has been talking about riding one. I do think he wanted to ride the sheep but I know he wanted to wear CJ's red Cars helmet even more. I'm not kidding he talked about riding a sheep and that helmet for an entire year. This was finally his night and he was excited all day until he saw the sheep and then he started having reservations but stayed cool.
Krey rode too and Grandpa Pat helped them tie their boots on. (Trig has loved his boot ties, me not so much. He has been tying things up ever since).
It wasn't until Dean put him on the sheep that he actually started crying. Dean put him on backwards because we think that is how you have the most success but that only works if you don't jump off like Trig did. He cried and Dean picked him up. When he came over to the bleachers he was so proud of himself and asked Josie, "Jos did you see me ride that sheep"? She said, "you didn't really Trig, you just fell right off". He replied so confidently, "No I rode that sheep a long time I'm a cowboy, you didn't even ride a sheep Josie only I did". So I guess he thought it went pretty well and he is already talking about riding another one.
Krey did awesome too!
CJ was leading the show for a little while but ended up placing second.
After the rodeo my mom made an awesome dinner and we did fireworks.
The next morning came early. Some of our family went to the North Ogden parade because they are in the posse there. We let a few of the kids ride their horses in the kids parade.
Here is the group together with Jerry's family we had a crowd despite only having a few families.
Later that day my mom had yet another good meal and than Dean had some work to do so he headed back to Nevada with Johnny. Maddie, Emilee and I went Kayaking and I'm sad I didn't get a picture. I was so tired by the end of the day we just went to bed while everyone else did more fireworks.

Fishing

We took the kids fishing for FHE and it was a beautiful night, the weather was perfect, and the bugs weren't bad. But it was just one of those night where nothing goes right. The kids were complaining and Quincy was yelling (which drives Dean nuts) on the way up the hill and when we got to the pond our fishing line kept breaking with every bite. Dean and I were both getting ornery and then Josie flung her hook around and snagged Trig's cheek. She was so worried about him and felt so bad, he was terrified and screaming; Dean pulled it out with minimal damage and we decided to call it a night. But seriously I live in a gorgeous place.

The saddest thing I ever did see

Dean is really good to take Trig to work with him but today he needed to hurry and told Trig he had to stay home. Trig cried for a While and then went and got his binoculars to watch him out the window.

These Littles Lately

Trig has been obsessed with figuring out things on his own. He loves to see how things work and to find the power to do things on his own. He likes to snap, button, zip, cut, sweep, etc. He hasn't mastered the buttons quite yet but I've really been impressed with his dedication and his try, he doesn't give up quickly. I just love him, I couldn't resist snapping a picture of my half dressed determined little guy.

We have been eating a lot of snow cones lately. I blame it mostly on Dean because he loves them more than the kids, but its nice reaping the benefits. Quincy was delighted when I let her eat hers by herself.
We have been swimming a lot lately but today wasn't actually a swimming day, this is just a pretend swimming day where these two ran around all day in their swimming suits pretending they were at the beach.
Sometimes when you have older siblings you get to pretend your swimming too!

Lawrence Fox Family Reunion #5

Jenna planned a great trip as usual. We stayed at the Forest Service Guard Station in Cub River it was a really nice place and a very convenient location. My parents let us barrow their trailer and Josie was so excited she kept asking if it was time to go to bed.
 We played so much volleyball!
I love this picture of Kolt just sitting by himself watching the game!
Fox kids are really competitive, they love to challenge each other. You just have to say, "you can't beat him" and they are all in.
Trig having a donut with Papa
Kason just getting a little insight from Glamour magazine.
The kids had fun swimming and didn't seem to mind too much that the water was Freezing. TJ even took a little dip.
Grandma Fox was so good to play house with Josie the whole time
Laurel let Josie paint her own nails and she was so happy about it!

There was lots of time to relax and visit, it was so nice to slow down for a while.

When Trig fell asleep in my arms I knew something wasn't right, he never takes naps in my arms. Then later that night he asked to go to bed, also a bad sign. He had a fever and was acting crazy in his sleep, seriously he was more awake then asleep but he was defiantly hallucinating. After Trig kept Dean and I awake the whole time and waking Quincy and Josie up a few different times, he started throwing up so we called it, we hooked on the trailer, loaded up and headed home a day early. We got home about 4 am and put the kids to bed again.

Another day at Bear Lake

Bear Lake is the best place for us. Its not to far, there are no stores on the way so we don't spend any money and we cam play all day long together. I love it enough I would willing go just the kids and I but its always fun when we have a big group too.
