Moving Day

Addy is moving to my moms while they build a new house. So I watched the kids while she moved. It was fun to play with the cousins, I love to watch Josie learn new things from them.

Cook Out

On Mothers Day both our moms were out of town so we did the next best thing a visited our grandparents. As we pulled into Ogden I had the great idea to pick up grandpa Virg and visit grandma's grave. He was really excited when I called and told him we were going to pick him up. My next call was to Angela, I told her that we were bringing grandpa over for dinner. I'm not sure she was impressed with the short notice but I knew she could pull it off. We had a cook out and grandpa was delighted.
We took Grandma some flowers and next we went to see Grandpa Trigger and then Grandma Great. We are so lucky to have super cool grandparents.

Sand Box

I have been asking Dean to build a sandbox for a long time. One night he just showed up and did it.
TJ and Criag showed up and Dean put them to work. I'm sure they regreted coming over.
We bought a lawn mower from Leann's boyfriends family. Its super cool, and now for the second time in our married life Dean mowed the lawn!

An accident waiting to happen

Stan had his 4th annual construction company party at the ranch today. I would say it was the best yet.
The kids loved playing with the puppies and seeing the baby horses. And they kept themselves busy climbing all day long.

This is one of my favorite. Stan had a goat for the kids to rope. This little girl ran in a circle for hours and never even let go of the loop.

Fixing the clay pigeon shooter
Dean got 20 calves for them to brand. These boys showed them how it was done and then Stan offered $100 to the people that beat their time.  All of the employees loved it. It was so funny to watch, they were crazy; poor calves.
Then it was the City Slickers turn.
They had Cafe Rio pork burritos for lunch.
Laurel came and picked up my kids. They were really excited and so was I.
They finished up the Real way.
 Learning a little about tack.
They wrapped up with a skeet shoot. And I got a sunburn so it was a good day.

Lately

Baby Morely's 7:00 am Birthday Party

Right when Josie got up she told us it was her doll "Baby Morley" birthday. She then spent the next hour getting grocery shopping and preparing. Baby Morley even got a cupcake candle to blow out. It was so funny to see the things she thought needed to be at the party, like 1/2 of a chicken for example.
Josie spent a little over an hour washing dishes while I worked with one of the students I tutor. She had an excellent time but was really bothered when I put her clean dishes back in the sink to really be washed.
We got to tend the REAL baby Morely. It was so funny to watch Trig. He could not have loved it any more. He wouldn't leave her alone, he just kept bouncing on his knees and laughing.

Josie on the other hand was not near as excited as I thought she would be. She just wanted to get in Morley's chair, and force toys on Morely that she didn't want.
Dean read me this thing the other day that was in a magazine. It was just a funny little write up about why they only have cowboy poetry and not farmer poetry. The guy said when a cowboy gets hurt its always funny but when you make a farmer mad there is nothing funny to say. That proved true
this week for Dean. He has had a rough week. nothing seems to be going right. One example; he had 6 tires go out in two days on various equipment and I'm here to say its not funny when a farmer gets mad.
I finished up this week with all my tutoring students and I also finished Dean's school. So I'm officially out for the summer. I'm really excited about it and next semester Dean has another Math class that he has to do ALL by himself- Bonus.

This little man is a climber. He is all over the place. He is getting more teeth and has been pretty sad about it. I'm really nervous that he is going to be mean. He steals stuff from Josie and then crawls away with it as fast as he can. He and Dean are always wrestling and Josie better watch out because he is going to clock her soon.
Josie and I painted the picnic table, it was fun to watch her concentrate on her work.
Andrea invited us to go swimming at Lava. It was the first time Josie was really brave swimming. It made me excited for the summer.

Yesterday we were at the library and I heard Josie say, "Hey guy were my mom at". He didn't respond fast enough so she said again, "Heeey Guuuy  were my mom aaat".

Today while Josie was in time out she said, "mom member Leann 4wheeler out gas in driveway, that way funny mom, mom laugh that way funny, laugh mom" - then she just covered her mouth and had a real good laugh herself.

We are working on communication

Dean has been farming a lot lately. He hasn't been home much at all. He has been farming out of cell service so we haven't talked a lot. This morning he had to stay home while I went to piano. I got home at 8 and was trying to talk to him about his plans for the day so I knew what to expect. He was in a hurry and was really rude; he left and we were both mad. Later he called me and said, "Sorry I was rude earlier I just really needed to go and you wouldn't stop talking so I decided if I was really rude you would get mad and just stop talking to me. I don't know if that helps or hurts the situation but it is what it is".
That might be the worst apology ever; but it is what it is I guess.
P.S. then he took me to lunch!
