When I told the kids we were going to Disneyland Josie said she didn't want to go, she just wanted to go to the desert to see camels and Trig cried when he realized the Ninja Turtles don't live there. We talked about it more and more and they grew so excited that we had to make a paper chain because they didn't understand the amount of time that needed to pass before we could leave.
I called Catherine for some advice on Disneyland and she and JD decided to bring Colette and join us! It was exciting to have some company. We were able to get a hotel suite so we had a kitchen and a three bedroom hotel.
I debated back and forth about taking Quincy. I really wanted her on our family vacation but new that it would be hard on both of us to be gone so long. Addy offered to watch her but I still listed her on our flight as a lap child because I really thought I wanted her to go. Last minute I came to my senses and realized it would be torture for her to travel, shred her sleep schedule and deal with long days at disneyland. I was sad but knew she would be in good hands with the Whites.
We left Monday morning and drove to Highland, we made a million stops along the way getting last minute things and the kids were such good sports. I knew I had made the right choice when Trig had some money to spend and wanted to ride this Dumbo at Walmart. I put Quincy on and she went nuts, turns out she doesn't like rides. We stopped at the grocery to get her some food for the week and she love the cart I figured that was just as good as Disneyland for her. After Addy's we stopped at Schilles to get a Christmas present for Dean when we pulled in the parking lot Trig asked if we were at Disneyland, I told him no and laughed and he slumped down in his seat frustrated and grunted "than why are we here"?
We finally made it to the airport and the kids were so excited! They did so good on the plane and were pretty bummed when they realized we were going to bed right when we got to the hotel instead of going to Disneyland. We put the kids to bed (Hall's stayed with the kids) and took a cab to the grocery store to get some groceries for our stay.
