We got to hang out with Papa one night when Dean's parents went to town. We were sitting at the table just finishing dinner when the lights went out. Papa was mad because he was planning on watching an important football game but we made the most of the situation. We found a head lamp and a battery powered lantern and the kids were in Heaven. They ran around roaring at each and trying to hide; but neither of them would turn their light off so it was pretty easy to find them. Dean was worried that we were going to run out of batteries so he made the kids turn off the lights and lit some candles. Papa was so cute to get the kids excited, he told them we were going camping in the mountains and going to hunt some bears. We roasted marshmallows over the candles and Papa teased the kids that the bears were going to smell it. Papa told them how we road our horses up the mountain and we were going to sleep in a tent. Papa was still upset he didn't get to watch the game but it was a fun night for all of us... until we went home and put the kids to bed without any lights, heat, or running water.
