up·cy·cle
[uhp-sahy-kuhl]verb,up·cy·cled, up·cy·cling, noun
1. to process (used or wast material) soas to produce something that is often betterthan the original
When Laurel was little grandpa Trigger gave her
this playhouse. Dean thinks it's 27 years old. I can't imagine all the memories
it has been part of with all 6 Fox kids. I think it was red and
yellow, since then it was painted blue and moved around a lot. Grandpa Fox
dropped it off in our yard one day when Josie was a baby. It blew over and to
say the least it was in bad shape. Dean moved it out to the field where it sat
for the last year. A couple weeks ago when we were exploring Josie spotted it.
She wanted to go inside but the door wouldn’t open and it was really gross. I
got the idea that I would just build her a new one. When I was little I had a playhouse (it may have actually been an ice fishing cabin) that I loved so I wanted Josie to have one too. I did a little research and
found out that it would be way to expensive and way to much work so I settled
on upcycling this one. Casey gave me the shingles, I already had all the paint,
and the finished product ended up costing $68, not too bad. Over the last few
weeks Josie and I have been fixing it up. She was so funny to help while I
worked. She wanted to do everything. Then she would leave for a minute to push
her baby in the swing or see what time it was (she really likes to see what
time it is even though she has no idea what that means) then she would come
back and help again. I can't even count the number of pretend meals (usually
made of sand, sticks, and rocks) she fed me through the playhouse window. I'm
excited to see all the memories she will continue to make in the
playhouse.
P.S. Josie is in love, and she even lets her
brother in sometimes.

You are awesome!! She is a lucky girl:)
I'm really glad she got one. I think it is even better that it is an old family one!
I know the windows are going to need some oil, she will wear them out first.
Dad and I are so impressed Lindsey. It is just adorable and made with love. It will be added upon with many more memories and times of fun. The colors are so darling. Love mom and dad
