The way I understand it...

It started like this
And turned into this
But ended like this

Dean bought a new horse. The first time he rode it he took all the precautions for a safe ride. He saddled her up let her stand a while walked her around and no hump in her back so he decided it was safe to get on. She however didn't feel the same. She went to bucking and didn't stop for two good minutes. She then tried to jump a panel gate and that is when she feel over backward. The saddle horn hit Dean in the pelvis and he was in a bad way. He called me on his cell phone and asked me to come out and help him. I walked out and saw him laying on the snow in the driveway. He couldn't move his legs so I drove the car to him and he pulled himself in with his arms. We went to Logan to the emergency room. He kept telling me he was fine but I wanted to make sure he wasn't bleeding internally. We got to the hospital, TJ and Ashton were nice enough to come get the kids, and we stayed in the ER for the next 6 hours. The verdict was no bleeding, no broken bones which was perfect. His insides were so swollen it was like his legs and bowls were paralyzed so he couldn't move. He was in the hospital for four days and then sent home with a catheter. He was good as new two weeks later. Well except for a sneeze that pain would double him over. We know he was so lucky and very blessed!

Awesome Art Project

Its hard to tell but Josie and Trig are both holding a pumpkin. We had such a fun art activity today. Josie was in charge as usual, she decided to paint pumpkins and the best part was everything was pretend. We sat in the hallway and she gave everyone a pumpkin, paint, paint brush, water, a plate and an apron. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it the most, the kids were happy and there was literally no mess. What a fun memory for me. My favorite part was when Josie told Trig he wasn't being very careful and he was making a mess. I could get used to art projects like this one.

Doctoring cows with dad

Trig loves to go with Dean all the time. Dean is really good to let Trig feed with him but because we have been so sick he has had to miss out a lot. Trig will bring me his pants and his belt almost every morning and say, "daddy, moo". When we couldn't be in the house any longer I took the kids to doctor a cow with dad even though it was below zero Trig was one happy boy.

They came back!

My parents returned home after an 18 month mission in Africa. I love having them home and I'm so glad they were willing to serve. I know having them serving in Africa was a blessing to my family, we did do a lot of growing up while they were gone.
We couldn't go to the airport to pick them up because the weather was awful. We couldn't go to their homecoming report because we were sick. But we did get to go to their house for a few days and visit. We stayed at their house a lot while they were gone; but it was so much more fun to stay while they were home, I just love them!

a new trick

I adore this little boy. He is learning how to jump and I think it is so funny. He practices a lot and very very rarely can he ever get both feet to leave the ground. He is determined, and when he finally figures it out I'm going to miss him practicing.

Finally Feeling Better

after 29 consecutive days of sickness our all 4 of us feel better - knock on wood. Trig may or may not need to get the tubes replaced in his ears but for now we don't want to see anymore doctors. Josie has never fallen asleep outside of her bed while at home; but this month she took a voluntary nap almost every other day.

Today I was organizing the hand-me-down clothes in the basement, I went back upstairs and got side tracked. When I came back down Josie had helped herself and her brother to some warmer clothes. They are so funny, I'm so glad they are finally healthy.

sick and tired of being sick and tired

We couldn't be more sick of being sick. We are on day 11 of either flu, colds, or ear infections. Only the kids and I have been sick, what a blessing because if Dean got sick I wouldn't be able to handle it. We tired the Grandma Amy theory... showered, got ready and left the house at least 4 times trying to pretend we weren't sick but there is no denying it.

Dean sent me this picture...
It's either really hard going to work with your dad or just incredibly boring.

New Year's Day

Dean usually goes snowmobiling with my brothers on New Year's day but this year they had to work. I talked him into taking me, I know he didn't want to but he was a good sport. Turns out its hard to go snowmobiling when your pregnant. Good news for Dean he won't have to take me again this winter, check mark.

Gussie

Dean bought this horse for the kids to ride, he told me he didn't like this picture because it looks like she has an evil eye; but she really is a sweet horse and I hope she takes good care of my babies. I named her Gussie because that is the guys wife's name that we bought  her from. I wanted to get a cute picture of Trig with his new hat before he bent it to shreds but he wasn't interested in looking at me from the minute we walked out the door. It was 9 degrees and the little boy would not get off the horse. I don't care if he isn't a cowboy when he grows up but I sure do love that he is a cute one today!

"we had a yot a fun days"

Denton Hall Christmas Party: every year when we leave this party Dean tells me how that is just too big. We talk about how you don't even have time to talk to everyone, but I still love it, it's definitely one of the things I look most forward to each Christmas.
Sunday we went to church and later Angela brought out chicken nachos and the kids made ginger bread houses.
Christmas Eve: Alyson made cookies for Santa and let the kids decorate them.  Then we had dinner and a short program including singing, the nativity, and presents.

Christmas Morning: We loved Christmas morning this year. It was the first year we had anyone old enough to care. Josie came into our room at 6:45 am and said with all her excitement, "I saw a yot of toys, I saw yots and yots".

We had breakfast and headed out to feed cows.
Next we had lunch with Dean's family, did a gift exchange, and went sledding. When I told Josie that we had to get ready for another party she said, "Mom we had a yot of fun days hu"?

The First Annual Fox Family Chirstmas Party

Laurel planned a fun Christmas Party for the Fox/Mussler family. It was fun to see Dean's cousins that we almost never get to visit with. There was dinner, charades, gingerbread bread houses, and lots a visiting.

Moving Cows

Dean has been moving cows all week. From Bear lake to Tremonton, from here to Boise,  From Cotton Wood to Buttermilk. He is trying to get them all tucked in for the winter. I'm pretty sure he cut it pretty close with the last move today smack dab in the middle of an awful storm. He loaded a semi of cows to go to the kill plant. Meanwhile I drove a tractor and Bryan pushed more cows off the hill down to the river. The wind was blowing so hard and it was snowing so much. Secretly I liked it, I think if its going to snow it should really snow, but that was easy for me to say when my kids were being good and we were in a heated tractor.
It snowed most of the day but thanks to all the wind its hard to tell how much snow there really is. Behind my house there is a 4 ft drift and in the front yard there is barley any snow.
