Engaged

Dean moved to Utah at the end of Fall Semester. He lived with his grandparents in Farr West. He continued to go to CSI through online classes. My brother got him a job at Saunders Construction. Dean purposed to me at his house on January 7th 2007. He had tried to carve it into the first tree he ever carved our names into but the snow was not deep enough to snowmobile to but too deep to take a 4-wheeler. He opted for another tree, I went up in the middle of the night and carved in it. The next morning I woke up and showered and got ready for the day. He said lets go on a wheeler ride, I said no, it was cold and snowing and my hair would go curly. He would not stop asking so finally I gave in. On the way up the hill he was telling me how much he loved me and I was thinking - then why are we out here in the cold. He stopped and we walked to this tree while I was looking at the tree he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I didn't even answer I just said, "you didn't ask my dad yet" he told me that he had I just didn't know and then he asked me again. I obviously said yes and the rest is history.

Dating...

Dean and I dated from May '06 - January '07. He worked at Trails West building trailers in Preston that first summer. In the Fall he moved to Twin Falls to go to school at CSI. There he Worked for Double A dairy as a yard maintenance man. He came to my house almost every weekend, and we talked on the phone every night. I was working at Farmers Insurance and going to Weber State University. I was not a very nice girlfriend, I think I was afraid of commitment and he just kept coming around (I secretly think he could not believe that I wasn't groveling at his feet like the girls in Grace did). I knew I liked him to much to break up with him but had to be just mean enough to keep him on his toes. I'm so glad he put up with me and finally asked me to marry him. I love him so much and I did then too I just had a hard time admitting it.

Our first Date...

He called! That was so exciting for me. Dean always made a point to talk about how lame Utah was and how in Idaho dates are so much cooler. He and Jason made plans to take Amanda and I 4-wheeling in Idaho. We met at Deans house. The whole time Dean was telling me how he was the best 4-wheeler driver in 5 counties (like anybody could even know that). He carved our names in this tree. I'll be honest I was waiting for him to kiss me but her never did. I had fun anyway and was excited to see him again.

May 5th 2006

I had recently become very close with an old high school friend Amanda Dabb. She introduced me to a group of fun boys from Plain City. They invited us to go bowling at Ben Lomond Lanes in Ogden. I had to drive separate because I was just finishing up my last Math final for the semester.
_ I had never met Dean before he was in Utah visiting his friend Jason Arnold, Jason brought his along bowling_
When I arrived I saw Dean; he was sitting in the chair with a cowboy hat on (that peaked my interest) he was texting so I of corse made a few jokes to him about how we weren't cool enough to talk to and he had to be on the phone. Neither of us played but we talked a little. When they were all ready to leave Dean asked me for a ride to his grandmas. When I dropped him off he ran in the house and gave me a halter he had made with his grandpa earlier that day. He then told me to call him sometime and was literally flabbergasted when I told him NO. I told him that I didn't call boys and if he wanted to talk to me then he had to call me. He acted like I didn't know who I was dealing with, This was Dean Fox and girls called him in fact they were lucky just to know him. I'm pretty sure the only reason he asked for my number or even called was just because he couldn't believe I told him no, and he was out to prove to me just how cool he really was. I went home that night and told my parents I had probably found the boy I was going to marry, if he ever called that is. I showed my dad the halter and he laughed and said it would fit the head of a draft horse and the nose of a shetland.
